my little mp3 player shrine...

my first ever mp3 player. i got this from a friend! he found it in his trash, i think. i felt so cool, with my 1GB of storage. my dad helped my put some Kraftwerk on it. exitingly, this one has a multi coloured screen! there are a few different colours it can be, which is really cool. i'm fairly sure this guy still turns on, but i never use it.

i was looking for any identifying logos on it when i realised that.. the glass screen (not the actual display, the protection thing) had gotten busted (maybe why the machine was in the garbage?) and that i had removed the rest of the glass/plastic... so much for figuring out what company made it XD

my second ever mp3 player! to be honest, i have no idea where i got this one from either... it was probably the same friend, he had a lot of cool tech stuff. this one has.. 2 GB of storage? I don't remember anymore.. I also had my dad help me with putting music on it. i tried to turn this guy on recently but sadly the screen didn't light up.. either my battery was dead or this mp3 players life has run it's course. selfishly i hope not.

i looked the model up on the internet but didn't find very much.. its definitely an older machine tho, since the usermanual (see here) is dated from 2007..

the product number/model is TC1402A, by RCA, for anyone curious

and most importantly: my current mp3 player!! it has a whooping 8GB of storage!! i got this one as a "graduation present" (i wasn't actually graduating) and this is the one that i used most. to this day, i go nowhere without it. it basically lives in my pocket XD. i have a microSD card with 32 GB of storage that i tend to keep in it, so i always have a ton of music to listen to. the mp3 player comes with a clip on the back (so you don't have to hold it in your hands, or put it in your pocket) but that ended up breaking. my sister got a player exactly like this one (but it stopped working properly) so technically i could take the backpiece off that one and put in on this one... but i like it the way it is!

the product/model number/name is: AGPTEK A26

on music:

music has always been a really big part of my life. i grew up in a house with TONS of instruments and CDs. both my parents went to university in music, tho my mom stopped after a year or two. for the first part of my childhood (i can barely remember this TOT) my dad would work nights and play music gigs. i remember sitting in our first house's basement, looking through my dad's strewn about CDs. he was going through them, or printing out the cd labels, or something and i remember finding a blue cd. it was so pretty, i really wanted it. i also went to elementary school and music was very big there. my dad would sometimes show up for the music classes to help teach, or to lend resources. for the first few years (maybe grades 2 thru 4) me and my siblings would sometimes hang out at school afterwards while my dad hung out and played music with one of the teachers. i've never been very good at playing music, or listening to it like a musician, and i really don't have that high a bar for what i think sounds good, and sometimes being in a household so ...devoted? to music and culture can be quite tiring. i worry i will be judged for liking "bad" music, or "bad" films... nonetheless, i'm glad that i've always been that connected to music. i really like listening to it XD
